Klangreichtum aus edlen Hölzern

Maßgebend für den Klang einer Blockflöte ist zunächst die Bauweise, z. B. der Verlauf der Innenbohrung und die Ausarbeitung des Labiums. Durch die Holzart wird der Klang des Instrumentes in seiner Farbe zusätzlich beeinflusst.

Die Frage nach dem "besten Holz" ist eine Angelegenheit des individuellen Klangeindrucks und des Einsatzbereiches:
Für das solistische Musizieren bevorzugt man eher eine kernige, elegante, obertonreiche Holzart, zum Ensemblespiel lieber weiche, füllige Instrumente, deren Klang sich besonders gut mit anderen mischt.

Zur Wahl stehen mehrere europäische und überseeische Hölzer – sorgsam ausgewählt, gelagert und getrocknet.
