Fred Morgan – one of the most famous recorder makers of our time: No one else had a comparable reputation worldwide. The list of those who are playing his recorders in concerts and on CD is like a ’Who is who‘ of the best known international recorder players.
When Fred Morgan died in an accident in 1999 he consigned the results of research of decades, instruments and notes. In 2002 a comprehensive partnership between Fred Morgan‘s widow Ann and Mollenhauer was established to come by his legacy, to utilise and enhance it.
Our Morgan-Edition is mirroring the elements of Fred Morgan‘s art: His notes and model of some different recorder types are the basis.
In addition to that we have got modern engines that allow us an accuracy that was not available for recorder makers yet – and allow them room: for time and concentration to address themselves to the development of every single instrument with tremendous diligence.
Diligence and quality are important for us: Therefore the instruments of the Morgan-Edition are manufactured only in a limited number of pieces.
