In this two-day seminar recorder player and teacher Sarah Jeffery will take you through everything you need to know about the low recorders. The emphasis will be on ensemble playing, learning how to create a beautiful warm sound together with a mixture of the tenor down to the contrabass (and below?) We will cover a wide range of music, from medieval, renaissance and baroque to modern and jazzy. Throughout the weekend there will also be attention for instrumental technique, stretching and the physical aspects of playing a larger instrument.
Level: Intermediate +
Requirements: please bring your recorders from tenor and below - the larger the better!
The language of the workshop will be English.
Sarah Jeffery has built up a wealth of experience during her career as a pedagogue: from beginners to conservatorium students, from individual lessons to large groups, at all ages. This includes masterclasses, one-off workshops and trajectories, concert preparation, conference presentations and long-term teaching. She has taught all over the world, and it equally at home across a wide range of styles and disciplines.
In 2015 she started Team Recorder - a youtube channel with weekly tutorials on all aspects of recorder playing and music making. Her community of 50,000 followers includes recorder players of all ages, all backgrounds, all over the world.
