This special cable is ideal primarily for a direct connection of an Elody with mixing desks. This is provided by the XLR connection which allows to activate the mixing desk's phantom power option. It supports Elody's pickup with external voltage and increases the signal level.
The active cable is also suitable for all XLR connections with preamps and relevant sound interfaces which also provide phantom power. These kind of setups are preferable for playing Elody amplified but in its natural acoustic tone. This works best with such a higher signal level.
