Mollenhauer Quartet: Nik Tarasov, Sina Bayer, Beate Temper, Vera Jahn
As part of the events around the special exhibition on the anniversary "200 years MOLLENHAUER woodwind instrument manufacture", the Mollenhauer Quartet plays consort music from old and recent times.
Many musical ensemble formations were popular in the past. Even before the classical string quartet, the striving for the greatest tonal homogeneity was part of the ideal sound. Among wind instruments, the pure sound of recorders formed the intersection between vocal and instrumental music. It manifests itself like no other in the basic stops of every organ.
The concert with the Mollenhauer Quartet traces these origins. Its members are made up of employees from the Fulda recorder workshop. Their lifelong curiosity – combined in building and playing the instruments – testifies to a special motivation for the subject.
In their concert program they present self-made small and large recorders made after models from different eras with appropriate historical music.
